I live with this every day and it's ruining my life. I've had years of therapy and EMDR but the feeling still persists. I want to change my life. If you've overcome extreme fear, how did you do it?

Sounds like you have had a lot of help so this might have already have been suggested.

i sit with the feeling, really concentrate on it and invite it in until it subsides. Seems counterintuitive but it helps my brain realise it’s just a feeling and nothing bad is happening

I also exercise a lot.

hope you find a solution it’s horrible to live like this

I take medication for severe anxiety. It's the only thing that can help if things are that bad.

Permanently anxious and fearful.

Yes another poster said it. Don’t fight the feeling embrace it, sit with it and learn to regulate by imagining speaking to yourself as if you were a small frightened child. So a very calming soothing inner voice etc.

Exercise is the only thing that works for me
