Apparently 85% of arrests in the UK in 2022 were male and 96% of the UK prison population are male. So why is it that males/men are far more likely to commit every type of crime than women?

the obvious answer is that men commit crimes against women, who are more likely to be the victims. But I’ve literally searched your question online and there’s a wealth of research if you’re actually interested:
