Ate sausages open for a week and a day out of date

And I did so with relish, and fed them to the DC! I looked at them in the packet, they looked fine, they smelt fine. I fried them in a pan, and none of us are any the worse off 24h later! Yum.

We never waste perfectly good food in this house either, neither did my parents, and I’m sure their family before them didn’t either.

I don't pay much attention to use by dates. A good sniff and a bit of common sense does the trick.

A day out of date is nothing. I regularly buy yellow stickers and use them the following day and day after.
