Can you advise on what colour carpet

I want to replace the carpet in my bedroom as it’s very thin (flat was a new build so probably the cheapest). Any suggestions (but please not grey as I’m sick of seeing it everywhere!)

Gorgeous room 😍 The biscuit colour you have works perfectly but if you fancy a change you could put plaid in there.

ScottBakula · 13/03/2023 19:54

I love the room too , esp the blue walls.
I think the colour you have already got works well but how about either a sandy colour or something patterned with the same colour blue in it .

I will have a look and see if I can find anything . . . . . . . . .

What do you think of them ?

Can you give us a rough idea of what you like , pattened , plain , strippy , bold , .

I was thinking a plain dark brown - I don’t really like patterned carpets

Ok back to the drawing board . . . . . . . .

Honestly a pale dove grey or a deep charcoal/slate would echo the cool blue tones. The brown biscuit colour is warm and clashes with the blue walls - I wouldn’t go for brown, it’s another warm colour. Charcoal or slate would be better.

I feel the same as you about grey but it’s everywhere and cheap! I managed to get a really nice carpet for my bedroom in a silvery/dove grey and because the rest of the room is colourful (sky blue and sage green) and it’s finally aligned, it honestly works as a neutral. I think it would be the same for you. Just avoid the weird glitter flecked or ultra plush styles

I wouldn't say dark brown - I'm no style expert but that makes me think of German hotel rooms in the eighties. Dark.

I'd go lighter or pick up the blue. (I loved the plaid linked by ScottBakula - really stylish)

Dark brown will look terrible and will flatten your whole colour scheme. I would stick to a neutral but in a more natural texture/colour.

MockneyReject · 13/03/2023 21:24

If it's clean, and smells ok, I'd just put a large rug on top of it.

I found this on my La Redoute app! lr.app.link/wOIEegv08xb

Something like this, if you don't like patterned.

That's a good idea! I like that rug. (But then it's not my room)

ScottBakula · 13/03/2023 21:32

How about this range ?, www.tapi.co.uk/carpet/kew-gardens.
I think the sand dune one is nice .
Unfortunately it's also expensive!

Summer2424 · 13/03/2023 21:37

Hi @Bertha1924 i would have a mustard colour carpet 🌝

If you are in the North west of England this place is great .

Great team friendly and honest.

I bought laminate and carpet from them last year , they held it for me for almost 8 months (delayed decorating and unable to get time off work ) they were very understanding.
I plan to buy stairs and landing carpet from them later this year

Dumpruntime · 13/03/2023 21:43

I’d also stay with cream/biscuit colour. It means you can change the colour of the room easier at a later date if you wish.

evemillbank · 13/03/2023 21:48

I'd go for a wet sand colour.
