Bank verification app driving me mad

Please help, this is driving me nuts!

If I'm paying for something on a website or another app on my phone, and have to swap into a banking/credit card app (I have several) to verify my card payment, the original transaction times out before I can swap back to that window or app and I get caught in an endless loop. Every single time. What am I doing wrong?!

Nothing, mine does the same 😭 it’s so annoying!

My new bank AIB does this. The old bank Ulster Bank never did it. I got quicker at verifying though. Now I have the phone in my hand, swipe down, select, tap in the key, back to the website, confirm I've approved in my app.

I swear it timed out the first couple of times!

For one of them I can request a text instead so I do that, but it feels like a fairly fundamental flaw to using the app as verification to me!
