Quorn mince

I quite like Quorn cocktail sausages and sometimes use the 'pieces' as chicken substitute in curries / stir fries.
Made a cottage pie with Quorn mince last night and had a very gassy, loose tummy this morning (usually have cast iron constitution).
Anyone else ok with Quorn generally but not the mince?

the mince affects my stomach.
i dont use quorn on that basis.

It upsets my stomach (the chicken style one doesn't). I switched to soya based mince, either Tesco own brand or Farmfoods.

I'm ok with the mince, I believe. I don't use any other format of Quorn.

Lentils are better than quorn I have found, for a cottage pie
but the sainsburys or tescos own brand of meat free mince is better than quorn if you want to use that.

If you’re not used to it it can definitely make you gassy!

I developed an intolerance to Quorn. I first noticed it with the sausages. It came on quite quickly and now I can't have any Quorn products without being very ill.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 13/03/2023 12:21

I’m sure it’s made me gassy too, but it can also take time to get used to it.

Quorn makes me very poorly indeed, especially the mince

Billydaffodil · 13/03/2023 12:23

Lentils are a great substitute. A tin of green ones (already cooked) is about 60p so I'd use 2 for a meal for 4.

Or the Meatless Farm range or Plant Pioneers (Sainsbury's) or Richmond meatless mince are all really good.
