How to encourage kids to cook?

I've been meaning to teach my 16 year old for a while but never got round to it.
Once GCSEs are over and they have a bit of a break I'd like to teach them 4/5 meals.
How would you go about drumming up some enthusiasm for this as they aren't really "feeling it"?! Grin

My ds got into cooking with TikTok meals he’d found.

just insist that they have to make dinner once a week, let them crack on and see what happens. Yes they’ll make mistakes etc but they have to learn.

I made mine make their own meal once a week, gave a budget and let them choose. They didn't enjoy the pressure of cooking for others but were happy enough doing their own.

Mine cook for themselves at least twice a week.
I've made a very simple cookbook with recipes I know they like or they can knock up a pasta dish or jacket potato. They've been doing it since about age 10.
