Birthday ideas for a friends 40th

Any recommendations for a nice 40th birthday present please (female). Thanks!

It really depends what she likes! My favourite 40th present from a friend was a beautiful necklace. My friend knew exactly they type of stone and design I would like. I've had other necklaces from friends that have gone to the charity shop! This was perfect.
I also like to receive nice bags.
I like scarves but have hundreds now so don't want anymore.
I also got a stunning vase once that is a really beautiful addition to the house.
One friend got me a voucher for a massage for my 40th. That was a treat.

I received a book subscription for my 40th which was brilliant.

Depends what she is into and your budget? Does she garden? Like perfume? Travels?

Agree there is no one size fits all present! You can skim threads on here to see that one person's relaxing spa treatment is another's idea of hell. Even generic flowers/chocolates/wine can be a minefield when you think about allergies/weight watching/ personal preference etc.

She's your friend, surely you'd have more of an idea of what she'd like than randoms who have never met her? If you give a rough idea of what she likes people can recommend variations on it!

Thanks everyone. A nice afternoon tea sounds lovely. We don't live nearby so I will buy her a voucher for prosecco afternoon tea for 2. She can then bring whoever she likes with her!
