I feel awful and when I think I start to feel better it hits me again. Everywhere aches including my fingers, legs and even my teeth!

I have done several covid tests for over a week now and it says negative.

Just wondering if anyone else has or has had it and how long it lasted for you? x

Tonsilitus or strep throat maybe?

beth821 · 12/03/2023 18:27

Yes, it's horrid

IndulgentFrazzle · 12/03/2023 18:35

We all have it. I think mine is moving into my chest as well now.

So glad to know it's not just me!!! Negative covid tests but feel horrendous. The guilt of not going into school is also a torment.

Nickinoo30 · 12/03/2023 18:58

Yep! Feel really ropey. I’ve hardly any voice left and the most painful cough. ☹️

tilestoclean · 12/03/2023 19:04

My son has it and is really poorly

SweetPetrichor · 12/03/2023 19:11

Yeah, we had it in February. It lasted approximately 2 weeks, the hoarse voice went on for another few weeks, and I still have a slight cough. It’s a mean one!

catsandkid · 12/03/2023 19:18

Me!
Had it last weekend - just felt beyond exhausted but was back from a week away for work and assumed just tired. Felt worse as days went on and by Tuesday evening my throat was so closed up I found it hard to drink! Have had fevers on and off all week too with the worst on Wednesday when the fever was really high and my body hurt so so much. Spotted some white spots on my tonsils on Thursday so I assume a bad case of tonsillitis .... thankfully feeling slightly better yesterday and today (but still absolutely shattered).

TheChosenTwo · 12/03/2023 19:22

Dh and ds are currently very under the weather with this. The coughing is the worst, it’s so bad. The body aches are also bad for dh. Neither have Covid so assume it’s just this grim cold doing the rounds.

GordonShakespearedoesChristmas · 12/03/2023 19:23

Over 3 weeks now- sick of it. 😞

Zelda93 · 12/03/2023 19:29

I had it and it was strep throat!! Wow knocked me got six!! I was so ill 😷

flightless55 · 12/03/2023 19:42

Yes! I feel awful
Doesn't help that the annoying tickly cough keeps triggering my morning sickness too
It's only been 4 days so I think I've got longer to go yet till I feel better :(

KrasiTime · 12/03/2023 19:45

It sounds like what I had in January. You have my sympathies. It was horrendous. I needed 2 x antibiotics & steroids for it to finally go as I ended up with bronchitis as well. I had had pneumonia in November and December so I think the GP was cautious.

PickleSarnie · 12/03/2023 19:53

Me. Had it since Thursday and it shows no sign of relenting. Haven't slept since then because coughing myself awake. Lost my voice, can barely swallow, my body aches and got constant chills. And, I'm so gutted that after months of being so regimented in doing my pelvic floors to try and make my prolapse better, 4 days of constant coughing has set me right back and it's worse than it ever was.

So I feel like shit and my insides are hanging out me. 😔

UnmentionedElephantDildo · 12/03/2023 19:53

DBro did - he tested covid positive on about day 5/6

Even if it's not covid, if you've had covid in the last 6-8 months, it's probably deregulated your immune system. There's a growing body of evidence on this, most viruses can dampen your immune system and leave you feeling run down for a while, and covid is remarkably good at this (and the effects are longer lasting than many). So that means you'll tend to come down with more other illnesses, and you'll get them that bit worse.

Sorry you're feeling rotten. Treat the symptoms and hope for the best.

Then try not to catch anything else for a few months. Avoid crowded indoors places, wear a mask if you have to enter one. Improve ventilation where you can (and lobby for better ventilation generally)

Pawpatrollermum · 12/03/2023 20:09

Me and my 2 year old had it two weeks ago. I had a few negative Covid tests but eventually tested positive after a week or so. Get well soon x

KilljoysMakeSomeNoise · 12/03/2023 20:11

I have just got over it. Still coughing, but not as much. It's a really annoying cough that won't clear when I actually cough. Spent most of last week in bed or laying on the sofa. Stupid germs.

Figrolls14 · 12/03/2023 20:13

Yes me too! Sore throat, bonkers fever, knobbly tonsils, like I’ve been beaten with bricks around the head and neck, it’s been 2 weeks! Lost my sense of direction and in teas every 2 hours. What a bastard!! Get well soon everyone x

Ishouldbeoutside · 12/03/2023 20:13

I had it for three weeks in Feb. It’s awful.

Figrolls14 · 12/03/2023 20:14

Tears
but luckily also tea every 2 hours

Phos · 12/03/2023 20:27

I’m just going into week 3 of it and only just feeling like it’s subsiding

Spectre8 · 12/03/2023 20:30

Usually pineapple juice fixes up my sore throat and tonsils but not working im gonna try saltwater gargles

Luckingfovely · 12/03/2023 20:40

Just like a pp - I had it from NYE. Mid Feb turned into bronchitis and borderline pneumonia.

2 lots of antibiotics and 2 lots of steroids finally got on top of it, but I'm still totally knackered from it. Think this will be three months in total to properly be well again. Amongst the most ill I've ever been.

I really hope it's not as bad for you!! Flowers

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 12/03/2023 20:52

You poor thing yes we had it for over 2 weeks, the pains and chills in top of my back were horrendous. Then last week had the deep pains in legs and bones. Still have sinus pain that is very painful. Everyone seems to have had it. Get well soon and rest up and sleep when you can. I was nodding off all the time as had me exhausted.
