Selling sites without the need for online banking?

I sold a lot on Ebay until they removed PayPal as the forced payment method and insisted on bank details which requires online/phone banking.

Please could anyone tell me if any selling sites still accept PayPal as the payment method without insisting on taking over payments and managing every move you make?

If you are or were an Ebay seller before the change you will know what I mean, I am not sure if I am explaining very well.

Just to clarify, I do not want to use online/phone banking but I still want to be able to sell, so need to try to find a different venue.

Facebook marketplace?

I wondered about that but having read threads on here it doesn't seem too great?

Without wanting to provide bank details you’re going to be limited to Gumtree and Marketplace for cash transactions. The reason most selling sites insist on having your bank details is twofold: buyer protection (they can reverse a payment if you turn out to be a scammer or the item is not as described) but principally due to anti-money laundering regulations. The second is a legal requirement which virtual marketplaces need to be able to demonstrate, and you having a PayPal account alone doesn’t satisfy this.

I think you are going to have to sacrifice some security if you don’t want to use online banking (I.e Facebook marketplace or Gumtree which have a higher rate of scammers). As Comtesse says they insist on online banking for a reason.

If you have reservations about providing the details of your main bank account, set up a secondary current account without an overdraft facility which you use purely for online selling. Challenger banks like Monzo and Tide are really easy to set up accounts with.

Thank you all, you are right, I have another account, just don't want someone taking over what I can do with it and helping themselves randomly. I was just hoping there was a site still using PayPal for all transactions.
