Carpet beetle larvae in bedroom carpet. I'm so upset.

I was having a really bad day today. I went to fold the clean washing I had chucked on the bedroom floor as I always do and there was a tiny worm on a pair of trousers. I said "ew" and got rid of it, only to find another one. I picked up the washing pile and found 3 more!! So I rewashed all the clothes in that pile (I don't have a tumble dryer so that's gonna be a problem re cleaning all the fabrics in my room). Throughout the day I've found about 15 in my carpet. I put down loads of bicarb and salt as I'm too scared to use a pesticide due to having a toddler. I'm tired, but I'm too creeped out to go to bed. I clean my carpet a lot. I felt so disgusting that this has happened. I'm scared my house is infested.

I was literally playing on that floor with my toddler yesterday which has made me feel so sick.

I feel so down. Husband isn't interested in helping at all. I just don't know what to do other than vacuum like mad. I'm so exhausted recently and this on top has just drained me.

I just needed to vent, so thanks for reading. x

Are you sure that’s what they are? Did you take any pictures? Why won’t your husband help you?
Is hiring a carpet cleaner, or booking someone to do it, an option? It might make you feel more at ease. I think I’d be freaked out as well. Is there a nearby laundrette where you could take washing to use the tumble dryer? I hope you manage to get it sorted.

Sorry, the link was because it says to have the carpet cleaned but now I see the link title doesn’t actually indicate that.

It doesn't mean your house is dirty, they usually enter by flying through the window. Hoover those cunts up. They come out at night so you can catch the live ones by sneak attacking them using your phone light.

And do check the underneaths of any furniture in the room too. There was carpet beetle in our house when we moved in, the beetles had eaten away all the carpet so it was bare under where the previous owners had their furniture.
Anyway the carpet man we saw said the larvae can nest on the underside of drawers & shelves so clean them too with disinfectant.

I had these and got rid of them pretty easily. A lot of hoovering and some dichotemous earth sprinkled around. I was just relieved it wasn't bed bugs - I thought they were, as I was coming up in hives that looked like bites but some people have a reaction to the larvae.
