Sainsbury's Morello Cherry Pie

My Son and I ate some of the refrigerated Sainsbury's morello cherry pie without heating it first. I assumed it could be eaten hot or cold but realised after eating it, it says to oven heat and doesn't say can be eaten hot or cold.

I am just worried my Son will be ill. Can anyone reassure me that it is safe to eat without heating?

It'll be fine.

If it’s been baked already, then it’s fine. Was it raw dough?

Parroteets · 11/03/2023 22:48

You'll both be fine. It's been cooked already. It's not raw pastry.

It's cooked pastry, nothing to worry about at all. The instructions will be for heating, not cooking.

Thank you for the reassurance.

The pastry was definitely cooked.

You'll be fine. The instruction for reheating would be more for quality (of pastry) rather than safety.

If you read the reviews, plenty of people have eaten it as it is.

I think if you couldn't it would be plastered all over the packaging.

was it really good??
