The last place I lived, I was a bit spoilt when it came to routine blood tests through the GP. The lab itself was incredibly quick, and there didn't seem to be any delay on the GP side of things, so routine bloods results were almost always available for me to see online next day (or even occasionally same day), apart from the odd lab test that intrinsically takes longer to do.
I realise that's unusually quick, and that the pandemic will have changed things significantly too. Where I've been living since 2020, routine bloods take a few days, and that's obviously fine since they're not urgent, but I get routine bloods via the GP at least every 6 months, and have noticed they're taking longer each time. I don't know if it's the lab, or if my GP surgery just has an enormous backlog of results to go through and approve for patient access.
My most recent set of bloods, the samples were taken on 1st March and there's still no sign of them on my online GP portal.
Has anyone else noticed an increase in how long routine bloods are taking to come back?
