Just that really! Which exercise had the greatest effect on toning?

Hiit and pilates

mamacattiva · 10/03/2023 21:56

Pilates

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 10/03/2023 21:56

Weights

newyorkbreakfast · 10/03/2023 22:01

Lifting heavy weights, slowly with fewer reps. Very heavy, I mean where you could only do that many before failure. , Not moderate where you can hammer out 12-15 reps.

DuesToTheDirt · 10/03/2023 22:01

Exercising with weights. I use wrist weights, leg weights, dumbells. Doesn't have to be fast, though it's good to push yourself, and even 20 min 5-6 times a week makes a noticeable difference.

NomadicSpirit · 10/03/2023 22:04

Insanity.

It was brutal but the results on my body were incredible. I had muscles everywhere.

Beeeeeeeee · 10/03/2023 22:05

Ah interesting!! What about a problematic core?

Climbing & pull ups

ThreeWheelsGood · 10/03/2023 22:11

Barbell squats, barbell deadlifts, basically lifting weights. Lots of PTs are into this now and could create a programme for you to follow yourself at any gym.

ThreeWheelsGood · 10/03/2023 22:12

Pilates will help you with your core.

Beeeeeeeee · 10/03/2023 22:14

Thankyou! I’m going to look into my local gym

With core I think you need to do a little every day or at least every other day. Not just lying on your back but also in low plank too. And do squats or step- ups for glute and core strength. Fit Body Happy Joints is a good -free -podcast.

JustJamie5 · 10/03/2023 22:52

Anything I enjoy enough to keep doing!

But - weights (I like pump classes, or big muscle group stuff in the gym). I also have a little core routine (dead bugs, leg raises, plank, reverse crunches/normal crunches, and heal taps. I do 30 of each, hold plank for minute) and I do Pilates & power yoga too.

roarfeckingroarr · 10/03/2023 22:53

Yoga. Proper yoga though -
Ashtanga or even better, Bikram - not gentle stretching.

MaraScottie · 10/03/2023 22:57

Weights all the way. Heavy ones.

notprincehamlet · 10/03/2023 23:02

Running for fat burning, cycling for legs, swimming for core/upper body

HighInfidelity · 11/03/2023 01:23

Heavy compound lifts.
