Soft Play at Butlin's

Hoping someone can help with a question about booking soft play at Butlin's in Skegness. Everything has to be booked via the app, but it's only let me book one session for the entire week we're there - when I try to book another it says that I've reached my number of allocated sessions.

I can't see a way to pay for extra sessions though. Am I missing something or are we really only allowed to go once in the whole week?

You can only book one session. I think they sometimes let walk ins to sessions too tho as some people don’t show up

Soft play is free flow, as many times as you like for as long as you like. You can enter it on the app as a reminder for you but no booking is required. Same as the fairground, mini fairground and most shows

This is true for the other 2 sites, but not Skegness

You can only book once but if you show up on the hour they can usually let you in.

The problem with that is if we tell the two year old we're going to soft play and then can't, she won't understand! Hopefully it won't be too busy, although it seems I've already left it too late to book Tots Football as all the sessions are full.

Tots football they definitely do not care who you are or how many are there - we have done it a few times and they never take a register or check bookings . But if you're not sure try going into Hot Shots when you get there and seeing if you can book. Also if you check the app at 9 each day when you're there, more spots tend to open for things.

Thanks @Teafor1please , will definitely try that. It's our first time at Butlin's, toddler and a baby - is there anything you'd recommend?

Teafor1please · 10/03/2023 21:05

We are also going soon, four year old and a baby. I've got ear defenders for the baby that I got off vinted. Some of the shows are very loud so I think it could be needed.
We have spent a lot of time in queues for shows before - people start about an hour before. But when you get in you realise how many seats there are. So this time I'm aiming to just join the back of the queue.
The kids shows are mostly in skyline now as one of the venues is being renovated. I think that will be busy but your little ones can sit on the floor at the front.
Buy a flashing light toy before you go (card factory have some in) because the ones there are extortionate !
I got some ID bands from Amazon you can write your name and number on in case your little one gets lost if they are old enough to go sit at the front etc - or you can get a wristband at the swimming desk I think to put your info on.
Check the plan my day pdf on the website to check all the non bookable shows so that you know what's on. Shows like Billy and Bonnie's get up and go are really not very busy, but my little girl loved them.
10am ish is a quiet time for swimming but even if the queue looks big outside, it moves quickly.
Oh and take an extension cable for the accommodation. There are nowhere near enough sockets !
Overall, enjoy it. The staff are great- it is brilliant for little ones. I was really unsure before we went for the first time, but we love it.

While I love Butlin's I hate their soft play. They don't let the adults in it at all even with the babies. My little ones didn't want to be all alone.

Does anyone know if I need to book adults or just kids in? Dh and I will be taking 2 kids in so do I need to book 2 spaces or 4?

Just the kids.

Just the kids.

You only book the kids in but your DH won't be allowed on the softplay itself, he'll have to stay in the seating area. The playframe is for children only.
