Rosemary oil for hair growth

Has anyone used Rosemary oil for hair growth? I've seen quite a lot of ad's for it lately. My hair has gone considerably thinner over the last few years, and I have a lot of shorter bits where the hair has broken off. I did have a B12 deficiency which was partly responsible I think and after a course of jabs feels better. Just wondering if this is worth a try? I'm 47

Yes I use it 2-3 times a week mixed with castor oil. My hair is in amazing condition and much thicker although the thinning was postpartum so it would have improved to some extent anyway. I definitely think my hair is better for it overall still.

Did nowt for mine.

Are you blonde? I've been using it, I have bleached blonde hair and after I washed it out last night my hair had turned really brassy. So I'm going to stop using it.

No not blond, have dark brown hair that I dye to cover the greys. It's also really dry so not too worried about the oily part. I work outside with horses, so can always wear a hat. The routine part worries me though, I don't moisturise my face as much as I should Grin

I had good results but stopped and started using regain as it made my hair greasy. I used a pure oil and a dropper directly on the scalp every evening then washed my hair in morning.

Try using it as a pre wash treatment. My plan was to put it on as soon as I got in from work. Do my cleaning, cooking and then wash it out

Just buy Regaine from Amazon- it’s the only thing that is medically proven to work.

NutellaEllaElla · 10/03/2023 20:58

TBH I've heard it's more about the stimulation of the scalp when you massage it in, so a placebo arm would help figure that out.

Try searching for forest and shore thrive hair oil. An advert popped up on my phone and it had brilliant reviews. My hair has thinned so much and falls out alot and it's really getting me down. I've used it 3 times so far and does make my hair feel softer but can't comment on growth and thickness because ive not used it enough yet. I've also stopped using heat and try to let it dry naturally and only washing when it desperately needs to be and days where it does feel greasy, I use dry shampoo and tie my hair up with a scrunchie. I used to also find coconut oil good aswell. I ised to use that as a night treatment. Forest and shore can be used overnight or pre shampoo.

This is a good idea, I don't have time to wash my hair in the mornings if it goes in the night before

Yes heard this too. I don't brush my hair often as it's curly so I'm not getting this. Apparently a bamboo hairbrush is supposed to be good too

I think it’s probably the massage not the oil. DM has a Trichologist years ago as lost hair, along with Regaine. It grew back. Then lost again due to illness. It has grown back but not quite as well. She’s in her eighties though.

I just ordered a bottle from Superdrug after seeing a lot of videos pop up on tiktok and multiple adverts, a lot of people are raving about it so I figured why not try it
