School strikes (in Wales) suspended after updated offer made.

Which most importantly means pay rises are funded. Issues re workload are also being discussed.

That’s good - I hope they get what they deserve! We just accepted a deal here (in Scotland) so our strikes have been completely called off. No teacher wants to be on strike.

It depends if the gov have been entering into any meaningful talks I suppose. We last heard that the Welsh gov said that there was no money to offer any more, but now they have agreed to fund what they had offered.

We have had our 5%. Are having an additional 1.5% added to that, and a one-off pay award of 1.5% on top.
Next year's 3.5% offer has now been lifted to a 5% offer.

That is broadly similar to what we are getting in Scotland. We were also told there was “no money” and then suddenly, there was more money.
