I’ve lost 500g in weight

Which sounds like so little but is amazing for me!

I am about 20kg over where I should be weight wise but no-one is concerned as I’m on strong Antidepressants due to MH conditions (I have 3) and some contraception I have to use even though I’m single (to manage my periods).

MH team wanted me to slowly lose any weight because while my MH is stable that is only through sheer hardwork and they didn’t want me to slip back and undo it all, because of my weight. And they didn’t want me to make big changes that I couldn’t sustain if my MH slipped backwards again.

So I cut out fizzy drinks and switched to wholemeal bread and pasta – changes that are not only easy to sustain but that my DC hasn’t even noticed. I also swim once per week now for 15 minutes (all I can handle but it’s better than nothing right?) and walk everywhere I can.

I made a pact with myself I will only weigh myself once per month. 10th January and 10th February when I started this, I weighed the same.

Today I weigh 500g less!

I’ve text my Community MH Nurse as I’m so thrilled. It’s the right direction isn’t it? Even if it takes me another 2 months to lose another 500g.

Well done.

ADs are notorious for weight gain I think they interfere with insulin levels.

However they are lifesavers and you should keep on with them.

You could also look into low carbing?

@Quitelikeit I try to low carb but I do love bread and pasta, so am slowly making changes.

Brilliant! Well done you! Don't forget though to keep on the wagon even if you're a little heavier because sometimes you're just heavier ... but 500g loss is very positive.
Swimming, brilliant! You can slowly build up over time. Don't forget too you can walk in the pool as it's really good for you too if swimming is a bit tiring after 15 mins
Good luck!
