Just spotted a woodlouse on the stairs Envy Are there likely to be more or could it have just been that 1 little fucker?

Why a little fucker?

Just put it outside. They’re totally harmless.

wtjtejetj · 10/03/2023 10:55

Ok but will there be more though

Occasionally I find one on the landing.

SinnerBoy · 10/03/2023 11:18

You'll have thousands of them under your floorboards, they're normal and harmless, so don't worry.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 10/03/2023 11:19

Woodlice do no harm, why the panic?

WaltzingWaters · 10/03/2023 11:21

Well, my dad has loads in his house. We just get the occasional one in ours. They’re harmless. Take it outside. I say that as someone scared of creepy crawlies.

changethenarm · 10/03/2023 11:24

Hi OP, you can get a spray called Indorex. It'll kill anything that crawls!

Just make sure you air the room out for an hour or so before going back in. Take pets out etc. I do the whole house with it once a year and never see any creepy crawlies of any type anymore

caffelattetogo · 10/03/2023 11:36

Don't kill them! They do no harm at all. It's like having spiders, most houses have them.

JaneJeffer · 10/03/2023 11:58

I have them in my bathroom. They come out at night for a wander. So far they have not eaten us in our sleep.

If it's anything like our place, yep, there will be more, a lot more.

If I see them when I'm hoovering, I hoover around them. We all live peacefully with each other.

JMSA · 10/03/2023 12:20

I get them fairly commonly in my kitchen. Usually I rescue all insects - including spiders - but I do kill these. I feel bad now Sad To be fair, they usually die all on their own. Indoors is too hot for them and they like it damp, so they dry up.

shelbyger · 10/03/2023 13:12

I get them a lot 😭 mainly downstairs particularly the kitchen. I hate them they creep me out. I don't have a clue where they come from. They must get in somehow I suppose. I mean I had a slug a few months ago where the fuck did it get in!

My girl's petrified of them 😂 screaming like it's a huge fat spider when really it's a pathetic slow moving woodlice.

I just read someone saying thousands under ur floorboards and I nearly had a fit then remembered we have concrete floors, phew lol.
