Two year old saying words backwards

My son is just starting to speak and I've noticed that he is saying some words backwards. For example, if I say, "Can you say sheep?" he says "Peesh!", and if I say, "Can you say dog?" he says, "God!"

Is this normal?

He is learning two languages from birth and English is his minority language, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

Redrum?

Pretty normal for kids learning two languages from the start from what I’ve seen with friends. They seem slower to get the basics then suddenly they’re off and conversing in two languages.

Yeah, sort of like that!

My daughter did this and she's been brought up bilingual. She doesn't do it much now (nearly 10) but she does like to read signs out loud, backwards. We have a game of it in shops.
