Boiled eggs decorating ideas

For various reasons I have my 9 year old nephew who needs decorate a boiled egg for a competition. The prize is very token, but my nephew is VERY competitive. I am not at all crafty and not prepared to put lots of time into this - I have enough on my plate.
So any ideas for an amazing looking decorated boiled egg that is easy to create?

Oooo could he do the paint bubbles that you blow and touch to the surface of the eggs so it'll look like clouds? Then draw on some birds etc? Put it in a cute little cotton wool ball pile, it'll look like clouds too?

First boil a full half dozen eggs.
The ones which don't make the grade can be made into egg mayonnaise or curry.

Sharpies.

Let him draw on paper egg shapes until he works out what he wants to do.

He can make accessories and clothes from paper if he wants to do something 3-D.

Simple designs are more effective for a great result.
Good luck 😀
