Low grade fever - advice?

So I've had a low grade fever on and off for almost a week - max it's been is 38.2. It's been kind of up and down, higher at night. Last two days it's been slightly less often. No other symptoms other than a very very slight sore throat and my asthma has been a bit annoying but nothing major.

Also had first period since November which may or may not be relevant - that started yesterday.

Would you both calling GP?

Fwiw I have severe health anxiety and OCD with temperature taking. I take my temperature several times a day every day. That's how I knew it was up and at times I've felt very cold and shivery.

I don't feel unwell except for period pains etc.

There are a lot of viruses going round. Family members have taken it in terms to have the sore throat one. And it has taken up to a week to start to go.
Treat the symptoms —- couple of paracetamol, a hot water bottle and drink lots of fluids. If you feel worse or get new symptoms such as a rash or raging thirst you can't quench then call the dr.

No, I wouldn't bother calling the GP. Rest, plenty of water, paracetamol if you need it.

No you don’t need a doctor right now.

Perhaps try to reduce your temperature taking. If you didn't know your temp was up a bit, took paracetamol for sore throat you would probably just get on with your day.

This is very true. I'm waiting on a psychology assessment. I've tried reducing it myself and pathetically, I just can't.

In my head I'm thinking I'm going to get sepsis (had it twice) or I have a tumour or something. Maybe this sounds utterly ridiculous. I just wish I could be laid back.

Also online it says see a doctor if your fever lasts more than 3-5 days but I'm aware it's low grade so that's why I wasn't sure.
