YouGov surveys

Does anyone do this?
Is it worth it?

I've just signed up but it says to get a £50 voucher you need 5000 points, so far I've got 150!

How many do you get for each survey?

How often do you get sent surveys?

I do YouGov surveys; I think it takes about a year to get a £50 voucher! I get sent them quite often, at least once a week.

Barannca · 09/03/2023 13:15

I have done them for years. Sometimes it takes a long time to get enough points to get the money sometimes less so. I also do Y Life surveys and it's it's the same. Once I got two £50 payments in a couple of months but I've not had anything from either in about a year. I think I am almost there but lately I haven't had many surveys

Barannca · 09/03/2023 13:17

It's usually 50 points owe survey on yougov but again it varies some surveys are longer and you get more points some are shorter and you get less

dextrek · 09/03/2023 13:21

I've been on Yougov for about 15 years now, it's fun but you're never going to get rich quick on it. At very best, I've managed 2 x £50 rewards in a year, but more often than not, just one. (I get sent about 2 surveys a week and most are worth 50p, which just about tots up to £50 in a year.)
If you are looking for a survey site with decent payback, my absolute favourite is Prolific - I usually make between £20 and £40 a month on that. Next best I'd say is Y Live - similarly to Yougov you can only cash in when you reach £50, but I manage this about 3-4 times a year.
I used to be on about 12 survey sites at one point but life got in the way and I've slowly weeded out the ones that take up too much time for too little return!

SleepyMathematician · 09/03/2023 13:22

I’ve had one lot of £50 and I’m creeping towards the second but I must have been on it at least 4 years. So you certainly won’t get rich doing it!
Some of the surveys I quite like but some are tedious as fuck. The ones that list 50 different companies and you have to go through the whole lot saying which you have a positive experience of, which you have a negative experience of, which you’d be proud to work for, which you’d be ashamed to work for etc etc make me lose the will to live. I’ve told them they’re tedious and pointless many times in the comments but I guess it’s what the people who pay them want!

helpfulperson · 09/03/2023 13:24

Crowdology and ipsos I make about £20 a month.

BatFaceOwl · 09/03/2023 13:25

Yes I do it and I'll probably get my £50 this year

I'll never do it again though because it takes forever to get to the 5000 points and the surveys are just so so boring and LONG

Bluevelvetsofa · 09/03/2023 13:28

I have a theory that they send you fewer surveys as you get close to 5000 points. I’ve been doing them for ages and only had two lots of £50. They’re poorly constructed too.

I think this too. Last time I was near to £50, I stopped receiving virtually any. I even messaged them about it but they just sent back some standard lame excuse.

Decafflatteplease · 09/03/2023 14:02

Thanks all, maybe I'll leave it 😱

@dextrek is right about Prolific but I believe there is a waiting list to join them. I can recommend OnePoll, takes me about 10-12 weeks to earn £25.

Tell me more please.

it’s raking me over a year to get anywhere the 5000 points. I’m pretty sure I’m being sent less.

And the qns are tedious.

I agree with this! I've been on there for a few years now. I used to get surveys every week and I always completed them. Now I only need 600 points to get me the £50 and I'm getting a survey perhaps every 5-6 weeks.

I have just recently discovered you can earn extra points by linking up your Netflix, YouTube, etc, so I'm just adding these every month now to increase my points.
