I'm due to fly tomorrow (return flight in May). Last weekend I had some (post menopausal) bleeding so on Monday I rang the GP, who made an urgent referral (two week pathway) and explicitly told me not to travel.
What do I do next with 1) tomorrow's flight and 2) my travel insurance? TI will cover cancellation of the entire trip if I'm unfit to travel. They won't cover the cost of rescheduling the outgoing flight. But if I cancel the trip they may not cover it because my fitness to travel was unaffected by the condition for which I've been referred if that makes sense.
Have spent the morning ringing the insurance customer service line, being sent to the claims line, who refer me back to cs.
This is beside the point but it's an expensive worldwide multi-trip policy covering long trips.
I'm inclined to just pay to reschedule for late March and hope for the best but if I need follow up appointments I guess then I'd need to cancel the whole trip.
I keep reading the policy but I have no clue what to do next.
