Deliveroo order

I placed a Nando’s order earlier for delivery within approx 20 minutes. It then took an hour to be collected (the restaurant had closed during that time). The delivery rider was en route and got close to our road, then the order was cancelled and refunded. Just wondering what could lead to the rider cancelling the order once they collect the food?

I almost expected the order was going to be cancelled if the rider reported the restaurant was closed and couldn’t collect it. But in this case they got the food and were close to delivering it.

I think it was either stone cold and they didn’t want to get flak… or they ate it I guess!

If you message deliveroo and go through help to a live chat agent they usually give you some credit for stuff like this

Ahhh got you. in this ravenous state I wouldn’t mind a cold or damaged order haha!

lol I used the report a late order function on the app and it automatically gave me £1.98 in credit. Can’t complain I guess.
