Possible cold sore?

I’ve never had a cold sore before so not sure if it’s one coming. I have this feeling when I move my lip that it’s lightly tingly? I’m starting to have a sore throat and headache too and now I’m panicking that a cold sore is gonna follow.

I have an 11 month old that regularly likes to give me sloppy kisses and touch my mouth!!

Is there anything I can do to help it if it’s a cold sore about to come? I’ve had the feeling for about 2 days now!

You need some aciclivor cream. Brand name Zovirax but also virasorb / lipsore or generic Tesco cold sore cream.

If it is a cold sore, that might help it stop forming into a huge painful sore if it a cold sore. I remember the pre Zovirax days and they were awful!

Zovirax do cold sore patches to but. It tried them. Ice can help with the soreness numb it a bit. Usually it's starts with tingling /burning then rapidly develops i to a sore but I had a Two day build up once that felt like a tiny cut. The More quickly you get the cream on the better the result so if you use it as soon as it tingles it supposedly stops it developing.

Thanks I sent hubby out to get some of that cream late last night! Still no sign of a cold sore so I’m on day 3 of tingle lips, can it really take this long to form?!

Be a bit careful, I believe with your first one it is possible for it not to present as a cold sore but subsequent ones will if you have the virus. Hold off the sloppy kisses until you are sure it has passed.
