Lake Garda in Oct/Nov

Has anyone stayed on lake garda in late Oct/ early Nov?

We are considering it In half term this year. It looks like The camps start shutting down then and I wondered if it's still a nice time to go? happy to go when less busy but some activities would be good

We don't like it too hot but would still love to paddle and swim, also curious about mosquitos that time of year?

We go to Lake Maggiore in July/Aug each year as my best mate has a house there. It is scorching hot and the only way to spend time is up to our necks in lake water.

I've been in Oct and Nov and it's usually cold rainy or foggy with not much to do.

We went to Lake Como in late September/early October last year and 3 out of 7 days were wet and misty, it was the last week the hotel was open and we were told that the weather was typical for autumn and winter.

We went last year in the October half term. We were lucky, with an October heat wave, so temps were in the low 20s some days, rather than teens.

Activity wise, all the things like paddle boarding/pedalos had shut shop for the season.

Bike hire was still available, and our children loved all the cycle routes. Our sites pools were open for the first half of the week- seems to vary from site to site, so worth checking.

On site Activities like football clubs, archery etc were still open.

Days out wise, the theme parks appeared to be closed, but we didn't check, not really our thing.

We did day trips to Verona and lots of towns around the lake. The cable car up Mt Baldo was great and has good availability even late in the year.

The ferries still run, just on a reduced timetable.

Nearly all the restaurants were still open, just quieter, which suited us.

Mosquito wise, still around, I got bitten, no one else in my family did. I totally failed to prepare though, so had no sprays/deterrents etc...
