Ds isn't doing great, behaviour wise at school, year 9. After a meeting last week the school mentioned they may not be able to teach him if he carries on.

So he’s not been expelled ? What does he have to say about it ? Has he always been disruptive at school ? Has he had any big changes like a move, divorce, death in the family ?

What is he doing?

BartsLongLostBro · 07/03/2023 07:11

Not from experience, but yes, of course. He will have lots of good traits too. He may be entrepeneurial, a good comunicator, an entertainer, good with crafts - all sorts.

Why is he acting up do you think? You must be worried.

My autistic DD was permanently excluded end of year 5. She had one year in a special school for social, emotional needs and mental health. We got her back into mainstream for secondary and she is thriving. She had really calmed down and had excellent support in place through her EHCP. Her behaviour was due to high anxiety and now that has been addressed her behaviour has improved beyond what we could have hoped for.

If your son is excluded he’ll probably go to a pupil referral unit. They will work with him and look to get him back into mainstream, they’ll work with the LEA to find a place (that how it works here anyway).

One of my friends was and my friends husband. Permanently expelled from private schools. Both have great careers, great wives and own their homes.
