Medication error query

I’ve been on the combined pill (rigevidon) for several years and was prescribed Everol Sequi patches about 6 months ago. I have been taking both ever since. My regular gp has gone off sick and I was declined my recent prescription for HRT by another DR without any explanation. I’ve been having lower stomach pain, bloating, discharge for the last few months. Could this be related to having been wrongly prescribed the medication?

How did you jump to the conclusion of a wrong prescription? You need to go back and ask for an explanation as to why the HRT was declined and then explain your symptoms and take it from there.

I was advised by the reception that the dr had reviewed it and said they shouldn’t be prescribed together but no explanation given as to why that is or what contraindications it can cause. Now can’t get an appointment to discuss it or find anything or use on the internet

The combined pill shouldn’t be prescribed alongside HRT

Basically you are double dosing as both your meds have oestrogen AND progesterone…..the combined pill is actually sometimes used as HRT itself. Generally the combined pill isn’t always the best option for over 40s particularly if you are overweight ( and certainly not the best if u smoke). Sounds as if u r best booking a review with the new gp
