Could it be a ghost?

Both me and dp have heard what sounds like a mouse or other small animal running around and scratching in kitchen cupboards and at the sofa. This has been on and off for months. We have left food out, put a mouse trap down, searched every time we hear it and there’s never anything there. The only ‘evidence’ we have found is an ice cream sauce tub that looked like it had been cleanly sliced across but the sauce was all still there, there was no poo and it didn’t look like it had been chewed. It’s all really weird.

Dp doesn’t believe in ghosts at all so every time we hear it he has to look everywhere for it but I’m now at the point of saying it has to be a ghost or something else not real as how could it be living here for months with no poo or sightings ect.? It just doesn’t make any sense 🙄

Why would a ghost scrabble about inside your kitchen cupboards meddling with an ice cream sauce container?

Get a professional pest controller in. It may not be mice but another type of creature - they’ll be able to spot any signs and bait accordingly.

Did you post this a day or two ago? I swear I saw a similar thread float by.

Anyway no, it couldn't be a ghost. Ghosts are fictional.

To be fair, If I was a ghost, that’s exactly the sort of shit I would do.

Mice can evade traps OP. It’s a mouse. Not a. ghost who thinks they are hilarious.

Ghosts have loftier concerns than fiddling with ice-cream and scratching at the walls.

Ghosts bend over you as you lie in bed and whisper ‘you do not belong here’.

They hang about the landing in a Victorian nightie waiting to frighten the bejasus out of you as you dash out for a nocturnal wee.

They cause all your picture frames to jump off the walls in unison.

Scratching sounds like a rat. Rats are pretty clever and can avoid traps etc.

😂😂😂😂😂😂

maybe set a camera up in the kitchen or something.

If this is what the afterlife has in store for me, I’d rather skip tbh. I was at least hoping for a gig scaring children on the ghost train at the funfair.

No, it could not be a ghost.

MeinKraft · 06/03/2023 16:53

What've you got as bait in your mouse trap?

Galadriel90 · 06/03/2023 17:03

Yes of course it's a ghost 🙄

Alighttouchonthetiller · 06/03/2023 17:06

You've got a rat. Get yourself a ghost and the problem is solved. Rats don't like ghosts.

Takeitonthechin · 07/03/2023 07:53

Put a trap with chocolate in it, you will soon catch the mouse

PortiasBiscuit · 07/03/2023 07:55

It’s a brownie, put some milk and cookies out and it’ll do the housework for you.

HermioneWeasley · 07/03/2023 08:03

You honestly think it’s more likely to be a ghost, than you just haven’t seen it or you have the wrong bait in your trap, or so much other food out they don’t need the bait or a million other explanations before you get to the super natural?
