Does anyone else detest air fresheners?

One of my friends loves them but I find them so sickly and lingering. It feels so petty and not something I could say IRL but AAAARGH.

Yes - they’re nothing but synthetic fumes, they make me gag and can give me an instant headache.

Yes I have achy temples. I feel so guilty complaining but they're so strong. My coat smells like them now too.

You're not wrong OP. They always trigger a migraine when I'm in someone's home/car with them. Hate the things. Worse are the plug in things.

They are foul. Awful things.

Horrible things. When they were in an airBnB we stayed in, I had to move them all into a cupboard and ventilate the house for ages to get rid of the smell.

I love febreze but there's a 3 in 1 plug in that gives me an instant migraine, I've been known to crawl under furniture looking for the violent fucker.

Yanbu, they are full of chemicals, not good for the lungs at all.

They seem kind of old fashioned to me. Not sure I know anyone who has air fresheners in their home. Zoflora is the one I hate.

Dreadful. I have pets so would never use an air freshener, scented candle or any other noxious item. This is why, when "what to buy as a gift?" posts crop up, the answer is "never candles etc."
