Best Liverpool museum for kids?

Hi

We have one full day in Liverpool (a Monday in July - Scottish schools on holiday but most English schools still in term time) en route to Cornwall.

Which museum would be best for us - with two boys aged 7 and 10? They like all things science and sport. Ideally with a cafe for a break.

We went to the World Museum for the planetarium and the aquarium - we didnt see much more though as we got there late as it was closing

the Beatles Experience is fun too

Either the World Museum or base yourselves at the Albert Dock for the Museum of Liverpool (covers some sport) and the National Maritime Museum. Lots of lovely eating places round there too.

Our hotel is in Princes Dock if that makes a difference.... but have a car and happy to travel.

We went to the World Museum in the summer, DC were 7 and 11. We went for the Dr Who exhibition that was on then, but we enjoyed the rest of the museum too.

It's a walk along the front to the Albert Dock or up into the city for the World Museum, you'll be well placed!

World Museum not open on Mondays!

Oh no, looks like Monday is a bad day for Liverpool Museums...

You could take the ferry to the other side of the river and go to the new eureka childrens science museum. Failing that my kids prefer the world museum out of all of them

Eureka only seems to be open Fri to Sunday. I didn't realise Mondays would be so quiet in a major city!!
