Recommend me a restaurant near the Crucible, please!

Just that. I’ve got DH and I tickets to the snooker in April at the Crucible in Sheffield. It’s the 7pm session so looking for somewhere for an early meal beforehand, ideally walking distance as our hotel is only 5 minutes away. I don’t know the city, any recommendations?

How much do you want to spend? Vero Gusto is fab but not a cheap option.

There is a great place called Ego literally opposite. Really good food, great service, highly recommend. Vero Gusto is also excellent but a bit more slow paced so maybe not the best before something...

There are also chain type places , think Pizza Express etc, in St Paul's Place a few minutes walk away
