Virgin Internet - or lack of. What the hell is going on?

Haven't had internet for 10 days now. Virgin are aware, keep on changing the date of the fix to the next day. It's an area problem, so lots of other people are without it too.
Does anyone know what the hell is going on? And why it's taking so long to fix? It's getting ridiculous now & I'm getting fed up of having no internet.

Similar problems here. Said they'd look into it and get back to me the next day, about 10 days ago....still no call. Getting Sky installed on Wednesday for half the price! Also West Yorkshire

Ah yes, I'm considering ditching them now too as they are taking the absolute piss now.
Can't even watch tv as it's all hooked up to internet.

Talk Talk is currently upgrading its infrastructure which is causing issues across all service providers, in part because some lines rent from BT/Talk Talk and in part because all the engineer needs to do is accidentally knock one cable loose and a whole postcode loses internet.

I work in network support and we've been a lot busier than usual with faults on the service provider side, which are taking longer to repair because their field engineers are slammed.

Virgin customer disservice is useless.

In time, it will probably start working.

Or it won't

I'd use a mobile phone hotspot if you can.
