Hi,
DS is 18 months, he's been in nursery since he was 5 months old. He has a great time, loves going in and really liked his teacher. There's a new teacher that started the end of Jan and took over his room. He goes into nursery happy, comes home fine, hungry and happy to see me.
She's questioned me every time the last few weeks, DS is an incredibly poor sleeper, this has started to improve but he still wakes in the night. He's never napped during the day but we've managed to get him to nap for 1.5 hours during the day the last couple of weeks and this seems to be helping. She will ask me things like "he is tired all the time, why?" "He is a bad sleeper, does he sleep at home"
On handover I explain if he's had a good night or if he's likely to be more tired due to a bad night.
She uploaded pictures onto the shared app and he looked devestated and had been crying, so I contacted them to ask if he was ok and was told he had been crying but he was ok now and playing ECT.
Today I picked him up, she said "he never smiles he's always so serious. Is he like this at home?" I reiterated to her that he's a happy child and always smiles at home. Does have a fiery temper but generally happy. She said here he is miserable and tired, I've noticed he's tired a lot.
I explained his sleep, again explained he is perfectly happy and healthy and mentioned that there was no concerns prior to her being his teacher. She then said, well I wonder if he really is a happy baby at home?
I feel really crap every time I pick him up and he comes home smiling and he's a happy child so I don't know what else I can say to her really.
What would you do?
