Hi all does this dress look ok for a 40th dinner and dance? What shoes would you wear? Need some advice please as hopeless at these things. Dress covers knees! Thank you!

Mmmmmm, I’d Google the venue and see what it’s like. Not very party like to me, you can always wear trousers as well, 40th bday or anniversary.

I would probably go for a wide leg trouser suit, jacket open with a fitted top under it

Are you 40? If so I think it's something I'd expect on someone older (I'm 40 and wouldn't wear it). I also think it's quite casual, but friends how fancy the party is.
