So much anger on the roads

People seem so angry at the moment. Beeping at other cars for no good reason. Aggressive driving. Tailgating...

I'm so done with it.

People need to chill the fuck out

I haven’t noticed this. Maybe you’re a terrible driver?! 😆😆😆

NachoQueen · 03/03/2023 16:51

I was waiting for that... 😂

I'm not btw!

Thankfully I’m a pedestrian mostly, but in my experience, most drivers don’t drive as well as they think they can. Or don’t care about driving well, bit of both.

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/03/2023 16:54

Not noticed

stbrandonsboat · 03/03/2023 16:55

It's certainly tense out there 😬

AmeliaEarhart · 03/03/2023 17:00

I was cycling home from work earlier and van driver nearly took out the cyclist in front of me by cutting her up to turn left into a side road. I think her swearing and rude gestures were perfectly justified under the circumstances!

Drivers do seem very impatient though. Lots of beeping at the traffic lights if the person at the front of the queue doesn’t accelerate off like a race car the very moment the lights change.

NachoQueen · 03/03/2023 17:11

That's exactly what I'm noticing. It's the impatience. And sense of entitlement. And beeping if you've taken a fraction of a second to think or to move at lights etc. There's no need for it!!

I haven't really noticed any more than normal, but I could understand why in the current climate where many will be feeling stressed and pressure in their lives, it may spill out onto the roads.

LlynTegid · 03/03/2023 17:53

I agree though it is not new. People such as Jeremy Clarkson and those saying there is a 'war on motorists' have created a climate where the behaviour of motorists is not seen for what it is.

At least 25% of those with a driving licence should not have one.

LadyIckenham · 03/03/2023 18:00

I think it's way worse than pre covid and have also noticed it. There's a school I have to pass in the mornings and the anger that goes on there.

I also agree re the sense of entitlement. When did it become acceptable to do a three point turn in the middle of a high street (especially one with a roundabout at each end Hmm) or a u turn on leaving a parking space, thereby bringing the same high street to a complete standstill! Happens regularly.

Comedycook · 03/03/2023 18:04

Where I live, we have ltns, stupid plant boxes put at the end of lots of roads, endless roadworks....there is gridlock everywhere. Totally manufactured by the powers that be. People end up very stressed

Shitfather · 03/03/2023 18:12

I’m in C London, drive daily and haven’t noticed much aggressive driving. There is some stupid stuff, but not many angry drivers.

GPTec1 · 03/03/2023 18:29

Driving test is ridiculously easy and training is about how to pass not how to drive safely, most people did the even easier versions, couple that with cost living, a divided country and terrible congestion and hey presto!

imho everyone should have a black box fitted as many young drivers do, just encouraged my cousin to re insure with one to save on the premium, his driving has improved 10 fold.
