How do you cheer yourself up when you have a bad day

Woke up at 3 with a hot flush and didn't get back to sleep before the 440 alarm.
Head off for work feeling shite and dh shouts at me for not mentioning we need cheese or ham from the shop.Ok then.
Work was frantic and a colleague who openly dislikes me had a pop.
Home now exhausted had a bath with a lovely bomb in it and pjs on .
What next to cheer myself up apart from junk tv.
What do you do when you have a terrible day.?

Wine😁

GingerPigz · 03/03/2023 16:26

I like a bit if familiarity if I've had an unexpected bad day so will watch reruns of a favourite tv show (preferably a comedy to lift my spirits - Modern Family is my 'go to'). Will also treat myself to nibbles i front of the tv and maybe a glass of something nice.

Tomorrow is a brand new day and everything will be fine again!

Hot bath
Nice music
Wine
Something nice to eat
Go into the garden and listen to the birds and watch them hopping around also look at what’s flowering, still got snowdrops and crocus going and the daffodils are just starting.
Buy tulips for the house

Hellocatshome · 03/03/2023 16:27

Sit on the beach and watch the waves.

Hellocatshome · 03/03/2023 16:28

Doesn't work if you dont leave near the sea I guess. So failing that I eat ice cream.

FavouriteDogMug · 03/03/2023 16:29

Cake and watching funny videos on YouTube. In your case I would recommend an early night as you lost sleep.

Davros · 03/03/2023 16:29

Get pissed as a parrot and watch Father Brown or similar

Back2front · 03/03/2023 16:29

Chocolate or something sweet that I usually try to avoid.

whatisforteamum · 03/03/2023 16:45

Ooh yes a good comedy now that is a good idea.Nothing like a good laugh and sleep to feel more positive. 😁

Cola, chocolate and an early night.

BridieConvert · 03/03/2023 17:08

Bath, chocolate/other snacks, crap tv, some wine!

Shitfather · 03/03/2023 18:14

Bath, pjs, hot choc and Warburtons toast with posh butter and marmalade whilst snuggled in bed.

Mummyneedsacoffee · 03/03/2023 18:15

Run… then lovely shower followed by a delicious glass of wine

Sprig1 · 03/03/2023 18:17

Pick and mix, bath, magazine.

Hawkins003 · 03/03/2023 18:18

Bath with bubble bath,
Cuppa tea,
Then mumsnet
Then sometimes a bit of hunting people (call of duty ps4)

Newstartonwards · 03/03/2023 18:19

Get into bed under the duvet with a nice cuppa - tell everyone to bog off - I get my dog up with me. I read a great book, watch death in paradise or Agatha raisin. Or I listen to cabin pressure and I think - just one day ! Tomorrow is a new day.

then I make sure light is off early

i wake up at least 30 minutes before every one the next morning - make a decent coffee and go and have a wander around the garden or listen to the radio or a podcast if really dark. If light I go outside and just breathe

a bit of gardening works wonders too!!

Hawkins003 · 03/03/2023 18:19

But before I get in, go to local supermarket, and see what cakes and food is reduced

Bigpinktrain · 03/03/2023 18:20

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 03/03/2023 18:32

Wine too 🍷

I’ve had a week of complete shite and today topped it off. Having a glass of Aldi Sauv and going to meet my friends for food while dh parents his own children.

I too love a yellow sticker bargain. Cheers me up endless. I bought some salmon fillets in Lidl once, reduced to 20p 🎉

OriGanOver · 03/03/2023 18:36

Definitely familiarity. My go to shows are - the office UK or US, peep show, Father Ted or vicar of dibley.

Bath is a must.

Although going for a swim helps me. Depends how shit my day was.

WellTidy · 03/03/2023 18:36

Chocolate and a Diet Coke.

Idgaff · 03/03/2023 18:46

Comfort TV - my favourites are vicar of dibley, the Royle Family and dinnerladies.

And a large wine 🍷

PolyannaHanna · 03/03/2023 19:33

Cat/dog/panda videos 😸
