Nad-i-rah does not sound right.

Nad-ear-ha sounds a bit better

Does anyone know please? I have to interview this lady for a job tomorrow and I can hardly call her Nad

What a lovely name!

As an Arabic name, it's NAH-deer-ah, with the stress on the first syllable. I would go with that if you must pronounce it before she says it herself - but you can also ask her to tell you if you're mispronouncing.

Just ask her when she arrives "hi nadirah, have I pronounced that right?"
Or
"Hello, I'm sorry I'm not sure how to pronounce your name, is it nad - ear -ah?"

Thank you so much. I know there's a risk of getting these things wrong but I like to make an effort. Interviews are nerve racking enough without thinking the interviewers not even bothered to try to pronounce your name.

We had a Ukrainian lady in the other day. Luckily we've got refugees staying with us so I was able to check - they found my initial efforts hilarious.

I’d go with emphasis in the first syllable too.

Whenever I interview someone I always ask them what they would like to be called anyway.
