I had chest pain during the night, but it's likely from my anxiety

I was on mirtazapine for 2 years after developing anxiety where I couldn't relax my body at all, constant racing heart etc.. After 2 years on mirtazapine I thought I'd like to come off them and see how I manage, so I weaned off and am off them 2 weeks now. Mirtazapine were great for helping me sleep at night but now this week I'm back to waking during the night, very tense and anxious and for the first time ever I'd a pain in my chest which lasted for about an hour till I nodded off, and it kind of scared me.
Any tips for trying to relax and slow down breathing?
I'm disappointed really I'm still the same as I was 2 years ago but was hoping to try and stay off them.

It sounds to me like you came off them way too quickly. I totally understand you wanting to try off them and if you are determined not to go back on them then you will have unpleasant side effects from withdrawal and likely see some anxiety symptoms return. You could try a lower dose or taking them every other day - see what your GP advises. Good luck

The only reason I came off them is because I didn't want to become reliant on them for sleeping. I was on a low dose anyway. I gradually weaned off. Just not feeling great at the moment.
