Wobbly tooth implant

I've had an implant for about 3 years. Dental check up a few weeks ago, all fine. Saw hygienist today and she said it was wobbling. I got home, looked in the mirror and it is moving a bit.

Has this happened to anyone? I don't know if it will settle back down again by itself, as she was being pretty rough on my gums. And despite me telling her beforehand I had an implant there, she treated it like a normal tooth (not sure if they should treat implants differently).

If there's movement it's a sign the implant is failing, you need to make an appointment with your dentist.

You need a review with whoever placed the implant
probably need an X-ray to see what’s happening with the bone holding it in. Implants can fail- thats a thing but you need a specialist to confirm

the hygienist might have been a bit rough with it. We normally are a little careful on implants but you can scale carefully around them They don’t normally need too much ‘prodding’

Thanks both I was afraid that was the case. The dentist who placed the implant is quite far away and expensive but it looks like I'll have to go and see him.
