Putting this is chat for traffic.

DD at uni recently lost her driving licence and now has no id except her passport and student card. Obvs doesn't want to carry passport around.

Just wondered if everyone knew that the Citizen Card is free if you use FREEVOTERID (saving £15) and is a good way to prove your age and can be used for voting. I know some student unions already offer it for free too.

Not sure how valid the Citizen Card is. I've never heard of it.

Will security staff at nightclubs/bar tenders at bars accept it? Would be a bit crap being refusing entry when she's with all her mates.

That's the point of the citizen card - to prove your age in pubs, clubs, to retailers and the police.

Yes they are accepted but like everything else probably nit be everyone. I believe there is an app where the venue can check the validity.

A driving licence has more personal info than a citizen card.
