Quite scared starting a new job!

I've been at the same place for 11 years, been feeling a bit over worked and under paid for a while so I finally got the balls to get another job!

I start a week on Monday and I'm really nervous! I guess thats normal?? When I've got new jobs before it's been for more junior roles, I just feel worried that I'm blagging it somehow and they are just going to think I'm really crap!

How have you all found it when you've move to a new job?

Congratulations! That’s a big step after 11 years and bear in mind that you were the best for the job.

My one piece of advice is to ask all the silly questions at the beginning, rather than assuming you’ll get it along the way. It’s more difficult as time goes on.

Thank you! Good tip.

I'm in the second week of my new job - I was in my last role for 11 years too! It all still feels a bit strange but I've thrown myself in as much as I can, ask lots of questions etc

The biggest thing is feeling like you've gone from somewhere where you know everything and everyone (I worked for a smallish agency) to somewhere where you're learning and where people don't know your skills and strengths yet.. I just want to skip ahead to three months in!

Yeah it will be strange. I think I'm worried as well as going into quite a senior position but there will be so many things I don't know!

What were your reasons for leaving @LadyWithLapdog ?
