I had hayfever for the first time last March/April. Not too bad right now, but started about nine days ago. I've been taking hayfever tablets and started with eyedrops yesterday. Better yesterday and today, but notcsue if that's the treatment or damp weather.

JayniSummers · 01/03/2023 20:56

Yes , feels early this year but a check on pollen site suggests tree pollen season is here 😢

Cuwins · 01/03/2023 20:57

Interesting as I had runny eyes this morning but thought it couldn't possibly be hay fever yet! I seem to react to more than 1 sort of pollen.

No! Because I could never remember when I was supposed to start taking antihistamine so I started taking it every day all year round.

Life changing.

bigbadbarry · 01/03/2023 20:59

Interesting, I’ve been taking decongestants because I thought I had a bit of a cold and that it was too early for hay fever. I will try antihistamine instead tomorrow!

We have, both dh and I, since yesterday. Usually it's the sweet chestnuts across the road which start the season od runny nose and itchiness, but they don't look like they're doing anything right now.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 01/03/2023 21:02

Mine's been going for a while now, about three weeks. It starts with catkins on trees (usually Hazel I think).

Fivews · 01/03/2023 21:02

Aha....I've been wondering why my asthma has been flaring up. Off to buy a truck load of antihistamine in the morning

BastardtheCat · 01/03/2023 21:03

Bloody hell it feels early.

I'll have to do the same!

Home Bargains for me tomorrow to stock up. My nose and mouth are one big itch 🙈

Does your air purifier help? Which one do you have?

Yes, my eyes have been itching since last weekend and I'm hoping it's not the Revitalash serum I started using around the same time 🫤 I'm on the one a day antihistamines just in case.

happysunr1se · 01/03/2023 21:29

I'm a year round antihistamine user.
I've had to up the cetirizine dosage for the last few weeks as the tree pollen starts, I noted down when my symptoms got worse last year so I was prepared.

I've also started my nasal steroid again after leaving off for December and January, but I'm saving my switch to fexofendine for the summer when my hayfever is at it's worst.

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 01/03/2023 21:29

Yes, mine started a few days ago. Bloody miserable!

Spectre8 · 01/03/2023 21:31

Yup but today it rained so my eyes weren't itching as much

BagOfDust · 01/03/2023 21:32

My GP told me I should start in Feb before it ramps up in March but this year I didn't get in early and it has started already. 🙄

BastardtheCat · 02/03/2023 11:35

Not half as bad this morning and the sun is shining here. Still, I'm off to buy a few of packs of cetrizine .

Air purifiers - any good?
