18 month old destroying his books…

He seems to enjoying playing with his books and looking through them but has recently started to pull them apart and destroy them… these are board books so it’s not a case of accidentally ripping pages he is pulling them apart! I don’t want to have to take them away from him/out of his reach but they’re not cheap and I can’t afford to replace them all if he keeps doing this… 😩

You could replace them with cloth books.
You will need to supervise him with the books. Until he grows out it ripping books - probably around 4 years old.

Only let him have books when you are sat with him and reading together.
He won't understand yet if you tell him not to do it. So you hold the book and turn the pages.
Don't just leave him to 'play' with them.

Also you can buy gazillions of books from charity shops for a little as 20p so if a few get damaged it's not the end of the world.

Yes - baby board books and picture books are abundant in charity shops and car boot sales. I never really understood people paying £££ for something that would end up chewed or torn!
