Playstation 5 for DP

I've just bought a Playstation 5 (disc version) with a controller (bundle) and the 'Last of Us Part 1' game for DP's birthday. I don't know anything about gaming – is this everything he needs to set up and play straight away when I give it to him next week? I don't need to get anything extra (chargers, cables etc)? Thanks!

It will have all wires to connect it to the TV. There will also be wires inside to charge the controllers. DP might wish to purchase a docking station to charge the controllers as opposed to plugging them in to the ps5 but that personal preference he will decide.

@Mumof1andacat thanks so much! And quite relieved that it comes with everything needed to set up and play – it's already the most expensive gift I've bought DP in 10 years... If he wants a dock he can definitely get that himself 😂

It'll have everything it needs. Just bear in mind it can't be used while in a telly cabinet hole. It has to have loads of room to breathe and don't stand it up until the coolant issues have been properly confirmed.

@gamerchick thanks for the tips! I'm guessing it will be find sitting on the floor next to the TV cabinet? Also, what do you mean 'until the coolant issues have been properly confirmed'? (sorry, I have no idea about anything to do with gaming!) Does this mean it needs to be used on its side? How will I know when the issues have been sorted?

@gamerchick I've just looked the coolant issue up online - thank you so much for the heads up! I'll make sure he sets it up so it's horizontal!

As long as it's not on a carpet. I've got mine sitting on a little cabinet in front of the telly.

Yeah, it's alarming that stuff. Loads of people are standing them up. I'm not sure if it's been sorted but mines staying flat.
