There have been lots of news reports saying that this is a "bulge year" with more than the normal number of children applying as 2011/12 was a high birth rate year. Its not something ive seen mentioned before. Has anyone else?

Yes, in Cambridgeshire and got our first place - very relieved!!

I just logged on to the local authority system and it says it won’t display a result there until 2 March.

So I guess today we just have to wait until they email us with the offer sometime today.
I wonder why they do it that way? I’m feeling much more stressed by knowing that I have to be looking out for an email all day now!

Yes in Kent. But not expecting to get them till much later today. Only up as DS3 woke me up so had a little peek and nothing there yet.

I've just checked the portal on the council website and we got our first choice which is a relief.

We got offered a place at our 1st choice but I suspect an awful lot who applied for it as preferred option never ( probably some siblings too)

In the West Midlands, had my email through about 20mins ago.. got our first choice which isn't a surprise..
Was surprised however to get an email this early last year mine didn't come through till midday..

Email just came through- first choice here too. Such a relief as DC has dyslexia and this is the only local school that offers decent support.

Got her second choice she's made up. It's a really nice school and she hated the school that her primary is a feeder school for. We would have been happy with any of the 3 we applied for.

Just got mine. 1st preference thankfully 🙂

Mine came through at 1:04am but waited for my DD to wake up to open it. She got her first choice too. So pleased, she'll be well away from her bullies now!
