Olympic tickets

Has anyone been successful in getting Olympic tickets? I entered the draw for the games pack, and have been given a timeslot to buy them which is active now. However, everything is super expensive and many of the things I'm interested in (eg cycling) don't come up at all. The tickets for things I'm interested in are like 100-230 Euros, and we'll need 4 (2 adults + 2 children), plus there is no option to buy for a single event, we have to buy a pack of 3 events. Has anyone else been more successful than me in getting reasonably priced tickets?

My friends got diving wrestling and gymnastics and are thrilled

I got tickets but wasn’t successful in spending less; 3 events; 3 tickets for each, came out at about £1000

The friend I am planning to go with had a slot over the weekend. She wasn't able to find available tickets for 3 events that we want to go to at a price we could afford. Events that we don't have much interest in, but would have been willing to get a cheap ticket for in order to fill the 3rd slot in the pack, had nothing cheap available either, so we couldn't even choose 2 events we wanted and add one we didn't want.

We're hoping for better luck in the single session sales when we won't be forced to buy for 3 events, and there won't be limits on what combinations of sports we can buy for.

Mygazpachoistoocold · 28/02/2023 22:22

Singles ticket sales start from the 11th of May. We have bought tickets from the first round but are undecided if we will attend all of those sessions or will look to sell some of the tickets that we bought.

twotoedsloth · 28/02/2023 22:26

If it wasn't for the fact I have to buy for three events, I might be tempted to do it as there are some athletics and swimming tickets available (though >200 Euros each). However, I'd also have to buy something like football or rugby to make up the pack and I doubt I'd be able to sell them later.

Wondering whether to just wait for the single tickets to go on sale instead.

I had a time slot to buy a ticket pack last week and didn't buy any. It was too expensive for a family of four and the poor selection available meant I would have ended up buying tickets for events that I wasn't particularly interested in. I'm going to enter the single session ticket ballet in March in the hope that athletics tickets are still available.

For those that have managed to buy tickets, have you booked accommodation?

anchorbuttercakes · 28/02/2023 22:41

We purchased a ‘pack’ today. It’s a very odd system and has cost us a small fortune to see some random events!

no idea on accommodation but we didn’t have too much trouble for London 2012 so hoping the same for Paris.

Gormless · 28/02/2023 22:44

We struggled too: a total of six tickets (3 events; 2 tickets each event) came to over £450 and that was about as cheap as we could get. Still excited though: athletics, pentathlon and canoeing. Haven’t been able to find any accom open for booking yet.

I signed up for this but every email I’ve had has been in French and I didn’t have a clue what was going on 😆 thank you for your message, I now think I have a slot that opened today. When I click through the link will there be an English option?!

Gormless · 01/03/2023 07:26

I think you should have an English option- I think there was a button you could toggle between French and English top right of the screen.

redspottedmug · 01/03/2023 08:05

Curious as to what the price range is for tickets? €100 doesn't sound outrageous for a major sporting event but appreciate it is a lot of money if you're buying multiples. I can't remember exactly what we paid for London 2012 but it wasn't cheap.

Mygazpachoistoocold · 01/03/2023 10:20

I think it ranges from 24 euros to 690 euros.
I think the issue is at this stage you have to buy tickets for three events and the same number of tickets for each event. Unless you want to see 3 lots of football/sailing/golf at 24 euros a ticket it really does add up.

JingsMahBucket · 01/03/2023 12:04

What’s the link to the website to register for ticket slots? I was just asking OH yesterday if he wanted to for 2024 and he sounded interested.

Thistooshallpsss · 01/03/2023 12:07

Like many others several of us were succinct the draw but all the cheaper tickets had sold out so it involved too much expense for rather random sports. I wonder what the atmosphere will be like also as there is no Olympic park in Paris

Clytemnestra21 · 02/03/2023 21:23

Got tickets, circa £1200, 3 events, 4! People. The event we wanted most we couldn't get though posters up thread have said they managed to get that event.

blueskiesandsun · 23/04/2023 09:13

Does anyone know if you can buy single tickets if not already registered? It doesn’t seem to be accepting new registrations.
