Feelings in dreams

I am having more and more dreams where I meet different men and have feelings in the dream that are so realistic. It's not a sexual feeling, it's that warm slightly euphoric feeling when you haven't long known someone and feel a chemistry between you.

I am married and we are good but that feeling is long gone.

I am having dreams like this all the time at the moment and I must admit its making me a little bit sad!!

Does anyone know the feeling I'm referring to? I especially used to get it as a teenager/in my early 20s

Yes I know exactly what you mean. I’ve had numerous dreams like this over the years. The men in the dreams are all imaginary - not people I know IRL. (Thank goodness ). The feelings are completely real at the time and linger long after waking. But I have always had very vivid, complex dreams about all kinds of things.

Same here 💫

I have similar dreams. Not often, but when I do there's a man (not anyone real) who seems lovely, capable and clever sorting out whatever madness is invariably going on in my dream. He seems to be really into me, and always has a dark Adam Driver style man-bob hairdo!

I always wake up disappointed when I realise he's not real.

I'm also happily married!

cassiatwenty · 28/02/2023 16:41

It's so strange how the three is us have never met yet had these mysterious experiences

Mmmmdanone · 28/02/2023 16:44

I had this once! Met a once who was perfect in every way..felt so much love for him. Then I woke up.😭😭😭

RumNotRun · 28/02/2023 16:45

I get these too, and then feel almost bereft when I wake up and realise that the guy doesn't exist. I am very happily single and a relationship is the last thing I want at the moment so the feeling is quite discombobulating.

emmylousings · 28/02/2023 16:49

Yes!! I get those a lot. Majority of the men in the dreams are totally made up. The feelings of lust and euphoria are so strong. IRL I've been with DP 16 years, no desires on anyone else. Actually my interest in.love and romance is at an all time low, so it makes no sense... I have asked friends about it and one said she had them too (same age, late 40s).

cheatingcrackers · 28/02/2023 16:52

Yes! So strange. I had an incredibly vivid dream
recently in which this happened to the extent that when I’m bored I find myself continuing the story in my head. Also very happily married but I think it might be normal OP to miss that early stage of the relationship thing, obviously the best experience I’ve had of that IRL was with DH and it’s a sort of wistful feeling that we can never relive that getting to know you, falling in love stage.

I used to have dreams like this but they were of one specific man whom I had a huge crush on. I would fall asleep thinking of him and then find him in my dreams. The dreams were delicious but very unsettling. It was always weird when I'd see him again in the flesh and I'd wonder if he'd ever dreamt of me like this. That's be very romantic but probably nah 😂Romcom stuff just doesn't happen to me!
@Halojames did you go to bed full of nostalgia?

Halojames · 28/02/2023 16:57

Yes I have had a bit of a dip in my interest in sex due to hormonal issues but these dreams are so different, it's almost like the moments leading up to a kiss in them feel so real and pleasant! It's always men who dont exist in real life (also how crazy is that, our brain just makes up a completely fictional human being!) The one this morning just floored me I was genuinely gutted to wake up the feelings were so lovely! I am in my early 40s so who knows, nice to know it's not just me though!

Yes, I get these - always about a specific person, who I haven't seen or had anything to do with for more than 30 years. Not very often, maybe once a year at most. As the other 99.9% of my dreams are unfailingly horrible, I accept them as a sort of gift.

Halojames · 28/02/2023 16:59

I am always full of nostalgia haha I am an incredibly nostalgic person! My dreams are always filled with old school friends and people from my past

I have a lot of very dark awful dreams too, I sympathise.

So these are a welcome change when I have them instead

I have a lot of dark and dreadful dreams, and then I have these otherworldly experinces filled with light and live. So I, as well, take them as a gift.
