DVLA license wait?

Hi. My son is waiting for his license to be returned as it has expired. Literally the day after he sent it off he was offered a job and now needs it as part of the verification process. His child passport has expired and he had to send the renewal off as a paper form. He sent it 10 days ago. Does anyone have any idea how long it will take to come back?

I sent mine off with the post office, I had it back within 5 working days.

He can always ring them and ask.

I did mine online and it was with me five days later too.

I said about ringing them and he told me he tried but was told they can only help when its been over 3 weeks since they received it. So he's going to have to wait and hope it arrives in next few days.
